St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid Training (Saturday Course) in Edmonton, Alberta

**Minimum of 5 Students Required

This stand-alone St. John Ambulance certified training course is intended for use on casualties of different levels.

When someone is injured and in need of first aid, will you know what to do?

Safety Coordination Services offers Emergency First Aid training courses, intended primarily for responders who can rely on ambulance services within 20 minutes of a 911 call being made.

Our Emergency First Aid course combines both theory and hands-on practical experience to provide the student with useful, fast, and effective skills to preserve life and prevent further injury.

More than half of the classroom time is devoted to hands-on practice of the skills of first aid, ensuring that our students leave our course ready and able to perform practical first aid in emergency situations.

Course topics are focused primarily on immediately life-threatening medical emergencies and the fundamentals of first aid, including:
  • Legislation
  • Head & Spinal Injuries
  • Emergency Scene Management
  • Shock/Unconsciousness, & fainting
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Medical Problems
  • CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Artificial Respiration
  • AED
  • Choking Emergencies
The CPR level taught by default in these courses is “Level A CPR”, intended only for use on individuals over 8 years of age.

For children under the age of 8, or for infants, it is recommended that the student upgrade to “Level C CPR”, which addresses the appropriate techniques for first responders in medical emergencies for children.
